About the studio

We are an international team operating from Italy, Miami and Dublin, with legal headquarters in Dubai.

Tuber Indicum is a trading division of Intarget DMCC, a consulting firm registered in Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai (License 809871). The agritech practice was carved out of the parent firm in 2025 because the questions coming from premium agriculture clients had become technical enough to deserve their own studio.

Founder & network

Rafael Patron

Rafael Patron leads strategy at Tuber Indicum. His background spans sixteen years in digital systems, applied AI work for European and Latin American organisations, and academic teaching at the University of Florence, IED Milano, and Nana Bianca (Florence).

He is chair of the Scientific & Technical Committee of AIPIA — the Italian Association of AI Professionals — the institutional credential that anchors the studio's Italian network. AIPIA is cited here as an institutional context for our work, not as a vertical agritech body.

The wider studio includes agronomists, food technologists, and ML engineers contracted on a per-project basis. We deliberately stay small. We pick projects where the substantive question is interesting enough to deserve a long answer.

Approach

Three principles we keep coming back to.

Scientific

Every claim has a paper behind it. When we don't know, we say so. When the data is thin, we say so. Agriculture has been measured for centuries — we read the measurements first, build the model second.

Editorial

We write down what we find. Reports are dense, sourced, and useful months after delivery. We don't ship slide decks made for the meeting and forgotten the morning after.

Operational

The system has to run on a Tuesday morning when nobody is watching. We design for the boring case — the second harvest, the third winter, the fifth onboarding — not the demo.
